A woman, a presumed victim of aggression, decided not to remain silent and reported that the head of the Sexual Crimes Prosecutor's Office, Ana Alicia Casillas Hurtazo, instead of providing the necessary support and dignified treatment, blamed the affected girl who went to the capital's office to seek follow-up on her complaint. According to journalist Carlos Jiménez, the victim identified as Mayra requested help at the Prosecutor's Office of Mexico City but was revictimized and blamed for what was happening to her.
Carlos Jiménez shared part of the victim's complaint, where she expressed that Ana Alicia Casillas Hurtazo attributed the blame for what she was experiencing to her, insinuating that it was her responsibility. The situation escalated to intimidation by the prosecutor, who had also not made any progress in the investigation since the case was opened in April of the same year.
Ana Alicia Casillas Hurtazo is the current prosecutor of Sexual Crimes in Mexico City and has been the subject of various criticisms and accusations regarding her performance in office. Different complaints have reported that the majority of victims of sexual crimes have received inhumane treatment in her management. She is accused of revictimizing those who report, questioning their credibility, and setting judicialization goals for her team, which could compromise the proper investigation of cases.
